There are some things I find very strange about Christianity. One of those things is the irony of it all. The ability of an unseen creator to manifest Himself in so many seen ways, that you can almost feel his smile directly to you sometimes. It’s the fact that something so unreal to the outside world can be so real to some people because of the choice to believe. It’s the fact that believing changes EVERYTHING, and turns the foolish things of this world into such wisdom, that the world cannot possibly comprehend.

Now the only thing that amazes me more than this, is the depth of the love that it offers. It is unbelievable. Like literally, it makes no sense, Wait, do you know what the bible says (Such foolishness?)

”That God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

Now tell me how that makes any sense to the average human brain.¬†That someone loves the whole world enough to give His ONLY begotten son, so that we all can be saved, and called sons of God. Nah, no sense … but until you know this love my people, I PROMISE YOU that you have not known love, and I PROMISE YOU that you have not lived.

Let me make today’s MCM clear to you. There is a fountain filled with blood. The blood of the one we sent to die. We literally hung HIM on a cross. That is the worst kind of death anyone can endure. Now, it’s important to note that the one we sent to die, is the creator of life, who knows the end from the beginning, and who lives forever (See the irony I talked about?). However, He allowed Himself to be killed by the ones He created in order that they may have life, and life everlasting.

THIS is Easter. Not a bunch of eggs from anywhere, it is the fact that sometime around this week, over two thousand years ago, a blameless man gave His life for those that killed Him, the undeserving, the hopeless, the desperate, the dying. You know why? He loved us. On that day the sun died, the moon and stars wept, because their creator was fallen. He was dead.

Oh, but that wasn’t to last, because He rose … Yes He did!!!!!!!!! Because the grave could not hold Him, death could not keep Him, hell could not take Him, and so HE AROSE!!! Forever. And when He arose, we arose with Him, from our deadness, and futurelessness. Now we have a future, in Heaven, because He has destroyed the power of death and brought us life. He rose, and promised us that everyone who believes in Him, will rise too, both now and forever. I BELIEVE.

I was literally in tears as I wrote this post, because this is the only reason I’m a christian. That someone could love me this much, that He did not keep anything from me, even His life. Because that was the only thing that’d make me accessible to Him. See, He wants to spend eternity with me, this God, and He doesn’t just want it, He took the ultimate step to make sure it happens,

If you’re not for Him, I don’t expect you to understand, but I hope that someday you will. I hope that somehow this song blesses you. I hope that you get found in Him and that ¬†happiness, true happiness that can only be found on the old rugged cross, will locate you someday.

Forever by Kari Jobe

The moon and stars they wept
The morning sun was dead
The Saviour of the world was fallen
His body on the cross
His blood poured out for us
The weight of every curse upon him

One final breath he gave
As heaven looked away
The son of God was laid in darkness
A battle in the grave
The war on death was waged
The power of hell forever broken

The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting?
Our resurrected King
Has rendered you defeated

Forever he is glorified
Forever he is lifted high
Forever he is risen
He is alive, He is alive!

The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting?
Our resurrected King
Has rendered you defeated

Forever he is glorified
Forever he is lifted high
Forever he is risen
He is alive, He is alive!

We sing hallelujah
We sing hallelujah
We sing hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome

We sing hallelujah
We sing hallelujah
We sing hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome

Forever he is glorified
Forever he is lifted high
Forever he is risen
He is alive, He is alive!

You have overcome
You have overcome
You have overcome
You have overcome
